Full-Day Responsive Electronics Camp
with TXRX Labs
June 27th - July 1st: 9-12 year olds
Kids will learn skills to use the most important electronic device in everyday life – the microprocessor. Students will make bookmarks that let them read at night, add blinking lights to their backpacks or bicycles, and allow clothing to sense someone approaching and greet them with a recorded message. In the process, the basic concepts of circuit design – polarity, wiring, amperage, and power will be learned. Students will also gain knowledge to use sensors connected to microprocessors to respond to stimuli with LED lights, speakers, and servo-motors. Not only will students leave with the ability to add electronics to clothing, artwork, and household items, but they will gain the insight to deconstruct the electronic devices they encounter on a daily basis.
At the end of the week friends and family are invited to attend a mini-maker faire produced by the students to show off the work they created. For questions, contact joseph.miller@txrxlabs.org.

Full-Day Jewelry & Sculpture Making Camp
with TXRX Labs
July 11th - July 15th | 9am - 5pm: 12-15 year olds
The craft of jewelry is ancient. At TXRX Labs “High-Tech Jewelry and Sculpture Making Camp”, students are going to learn techniques that can revolutionize the jewelry industry. Laser cutters and 3D printers have changed the game. No longer do skills need to be practiced for years. Instead, an idea can become a finished product in days or even hours and the design can be customized endlessly.
Students will learn to build 2D and 3D models on the computer using CAD software. These skills are transferable into many fields, but in this camp, students will use CAD files to make rings, necklaces, pendants, and earrings, or even to make pins for hats, pulls for zippers, ornaments for hoods, or knobs for shifters. 2D CAD files will be used to make flat objects on the laser cutter out of acrylic, leather, or wood. 3D CAD files will be used to make plastic prints on the 3D printers, which can then be used to make plaster molds and bronze and aluminum objects will be cast from those molds.
At the end of the week friends and family are invited to attend a mini-maker faire produced by the students to show off the work they created. For questions, contact joseph.miller@txrxlabs.org.
