CNC Router + CAM

Learn how to use Fusion 360 CAM and the CNC router to route/mill plywood, hardwoods, MDF, etc. This class covers CAM, Tool Selection, CNC Operation, and Routing Theory targeted at using the CNC Router table at TXRX Labs. Each student will prepare and execute multiple individual projects to cover topics in these areas specifically: Speed and Feed Calculation, Drilling, Pocketing, Contouring, Profiling and Tabbing.

This is a 3 day class, you must attend all 3 sessions.

Prior completion of Fusion 360 CAD is required.

-Day 1: Simple contour with tabs/machine operation (4 hrs)

-Day 2: Calculating feeds and speeds, cutter selection w/ pocketing & slotting and additional machine operation (4 hrs)

-Day 3: Simple 3D profiling with drilling & tool changes and more about touching off (4 hrs)

You do not need to be a member to participate.

TXRX members will gain check-out to utilizing the CNC Router in the wood shop upon completion.

Requirements: close toed shoes, natural fibers w/o loose clothing, shop attire
