Programming G-Code with HSMWorks

If you are looking for a straightforward CAM package to integrate with your CAD software, then come learn to use Autodesk's HSMWorks CAM within SolidWorks.

The course covers 2.5D milling operations from facing, pocketing, contouring/profiling, drilling, tapping, and chamfering while discussing the pros and cons of different strategies and options. Turning and 3 Axis milling operations are briefly covered as well as the potential power of 4th and 5th axis programming found within HSMWorks. By the end of the course, students will learn to manage setup of stock, tools, and workflow, while troubleshooting failed toolpath generation and reading simulation.

Note: To run files generated on lab cnc equipment the LinuxCNC Operations class must also be completed with this class.

Prerequisites: 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred), Basic G Code / LinuxCNC, Machining Experience
