Woodworking IV: Hand Tool Techniques
This course complements and augments skills learned through Woodworking III to take students’ projects to the next level of refinement. Chisels, planes, backsaws, and rasps may have been the primary tools available to the preindustrial woodworker, but still have an important role in the repertoire of the modern woodworker. This three hour course covers the selection and proper use of western woodworking hand tools. Each student will be given time to practice their technique in situations where those tools are most commonly called upon.
