Leatherworking I: Wallet Construction

Student will have opportunity to make a functional custom wallet. Using guide tools, a selection of chisels and detail punch sets, student will learn how to execute their design intentions and layout stitching. Student will be introduced to the single loop, running, whip and saddle stitch, along with a focus on detailed edge finishing. Utilizing tooling and dyeing capabilities student will have further time to personalize or monogram their design.

Students will gain a solid foundation of leather working techniques:

leather identification and preparation cutting dying edge finishing tooling ideation through design Completion of this workshop grants TXRX Members access to leather craft tools in the Art Lab.
