The HASSE Space School is an educational program that encourages innovation to high school aged students interested in STEAM careers. As part of this program, students visit U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, and TXRX Labs.
At TXRX, students work on the hands-on portion of the HASSE XPRIZE Competition, a simulated version of the Google XPrize. Students are challenged to contemplate how they would put a rover on the moon, travel 500 meters across the surface, capture high definition photos, and send them back to earth. TXRX staff trains students how to use CAD Software (Fusion 360) and then helps them design a multi-component rover to meet these criteria. The rovers are 3D printed at TXRX Labs and used as part of the HASSE XPRIZE Competition.
