Ceramics II: Coil Built Sculpture

In this intermediate ceramics class, students will work from photographs and learn to make complex sculptures using primarily pinch and coil methods but also some slab construction.

Students will learn how to transfer 2D images into 3D objects built from bottom to top. We will discuss clays, tools, construction possibilities, proportion, and finishing techniques and textures. By the end of the class, students will have made at least one larger detailed sculpture.

Please bring printed out photographs of objects you would like to make in this class showing at least two sides.
