Urban Homesteading: Preparing the Fall Garden

Fall is almost upon us. Come learn how to get the season off on the right foot in Houston's unique climate. Finca Tres Robles' Farm Manager, Zay Gamez will share with students the basics of transitioning from the summer, preparing beds for the fall, planning your crop selection, planting, irrigation and seasonal plant maintenance. Get hands on experience on a working farm from a working farmer and leave with a couple farm transplants.

Instructor: Zay Gamez is the Farm Manager at Finca Tres Robles and runs the day-to-day production operations of the farm. She brings years of experience growing in organically and sustainably in the Houston area.

Weather Cancellation Policy: Classes may be cancelled by Finca Tres Robles in the case of severe weather; however classes will not automatically be cancelled due to rain. Please stay in contact with farm staff if concerned about weather. Classes will be rescheduled as necessary.

Requirements: Closed toed shoes are required on the farm. Please wear work and weather appropriate clothing.
